Now, let’s dive into today’s feature from the Daily Dose…

These are the top players to consider adding from waivers this week. Unless otherwise noted, all players below are available in greater than 50% of Yahoo leagues (as of Sunday evening). Priorities and FAAB recommendations are meant to differentiate between some of the options available and are assuming 12-team, single-QB, fantasy formats.

It’s not the strongest week for waivers despite my first “high-priority” waiver recommendation of the season. There are more options at WR and TE than there are at QB, or especially at RB, if you’re looking to add depth to your fantasy roster this week.

QB Pickups

Daniel Jones, IND, Week 3 at TEN

  • Jones shows up here again as a top QB to add after performing admirably against a usually stingy Broncos’ defense last week, passing for 316 yards and a TD while rushing for another score. He’s set up for success in Indy, spreading the ball around to his outstanding rookie TE Tyler Warren and a talented group of four Colts WRs.

  • Low-priority add. Jones is my favorite QB pickup based on his dual-threat upside, and his matchup at Tennessee this week looks like a fine spot to use him if your starter is injured or in a tougher matchup of his own.

  • 5% or less of FAAB.

Jake Browning, CIN, Week 3 at MIN

  • Browning is set to take the reins of the high-powered Bengals offense with superstar QB Joe Burrow out for multiple months with a toe injury. Browning threw for 241 yards, two TDs, and three interceptions in the Bengals’ win over the Jags and added a short rushing TD as well.

  • Low-priority add. Browning has a history of filling in for Burrow, having started the final seven games of the 2023 season. Browning threw for 11 TDs and ran for three more scores in those games and finished as a top-10 fantasy QB in five of those starts. Despite all of the positives, the immediate matchup at Minnesota is tough, and there are other strong QB options to consider. I like adding Browning to a team looking for a second QB to cover byes or play in certain matchups.

  • 3% or less of FAAB.

RB Pickups

Tyler Allgeier, ATL, Week 3 at CAR

  • Allgeier has 10+ carries in both Falcons games to start the year while filling a complementary role to superstar RB Bijan Robinson. He’s tied for second on the team with 104 scrimmage yards through two weeks.

  • Low-to-medium priority add. It’s not the strongest week for immediate RB help from the waiver wire, but if you’re desperate, you could flex Allgeier against a Panthers team allowing over 5.0 yards per carry. Even if you don’t need to start him, Allgeier is still a great bench stash as the primary backup RB on a strong offense.

  • 10% or less of FAAB.

Blake Corum, LAR, Week 3 at PHI

  • Corum turned his five Week 2 carries into 44 yards and a TD and is the only Rams RB with a touch this season other than starter Kyren Williams. Corum has been rotated in for an entire offensive series at a time, rather than having a more specific role carved out for him.

  • Low-priority add. Corum is the right kind of bench stash as a primary backup RB on a solid offense. It’s a bonus that his team has shown it is willing to play him in various downs and distances.

  • 5% or less of FAAB.

Some additional lower-priority RB adds to consider:

  • Kenneth Gainwell (PIT)- Has 8+ touches in both games to start the year, potential bye-week coverage in PPR leagues.

  • Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez (WAS) - One or both will likely serve a complementary role to rookie phenom Jacory Croskey-Merritt in the wake of Austin Ekeler’s season-ending injury. A situation to monitor for now.

IR stash candidate(s): Tyjae Spears (TEN)

WR Pickups

Troy Franklin, DEN, Week 3 at LAC

  • Franklin tied a career best with six targets while playing more than half of the offensive snaps in Week 1. He followed that up last week by playing over 80% of snaps (most among DEN WRs) and turned his nine targets into an 8-89-1 line. No other Broncos player had more than 24 yards receiving in their loss to the Colts.

  • High-priority add. Franklin leads the Broncos in all major receiving categories through two games and has obvious chemistry with Bo Nix. The Broncos do seem to rotate their WRs a bit, but Franklin is going to be hard to take off the field playing like this.

  • 20 - 40% of FAAB.

Wan’Dale Robinson, NYG, Week 3 vs KC

  • Robinson caught eight of 10 targets for 142 yards, including a 32-yard TD catch, in the Giants’ wild overtime loss to the Cowboys that saw Giants QB Russell Wilson throw for 450 yards.

  • Medium-priority add. While I don’t see many more 450-yard passing games in the Giants’ future, Robinson has 8+ targets in both games this year and should be rostered in PPR leagues. He will be useful in the right matchups or to cover bye weeks.

  • 5 - 15% of FAAB.

Elic Ayomanor, TEN, Week 3 vs IND

  • Ayomanor, a rookie fourth-round draft pick, had a breakout 4-56-1 performance last week and has been an immediate starter for the Titans to begin his career. He has the second-most targets on the team behind veteran Calvin Ridley through two weeks. Rookie QB Cam Ward has a 287-1 passing line on the season.

  • Medium-priority add. EA has looked the part and has an exciting role to begin his career, but we need to see more out of the Tennessee offense as a whole before he can be trusted as a regular in fantasy lineups.

  • 5 - 15% of FAAB.

Some additional lower-priority WR adds to consider:

  • Dontayvion Wicks (GB) - Wicks leads Packers WRs with six catches through two games and could be in line for more looks with Jayden Reed out for two months with a broken collarbone.

  • Romeo Doubs (GB) - Doubs leads GB WRs with 96 yards through two games and will be competing with Wicks and rookie Matthew Golden for GB WR snaps and targets.

  • Kayshon Boutte (NE) - Caught a TD in Week 2, leads the Pats in receiving yards through two weeks.

  • Christian Kirk (HOU) - Rumored to be coming back soon from injury and could step right into a complementary role to star WR Nico Collins in the Houston offense.

  • Dyami Brown (JAX) - Went 5-57-1 last week and leads the Jags in receiving yards on the year.

  • Hunter Renfrow (CAR) - Has 15 targets through two weeks and caught a pair of TDs in the Panthers’ failed comeback attempt against the Cardinals last week.

IR stash candidate(s): Brandon Aiyuk (SF), Jalen Coker (CAR)

TE Pickups

Juwan Johnson, NO, Week 3 at SEA

  • Johnson followed up his strong Week 1 performance with a solid 5-49-1 line on nine more targets in the Saints’ Week 2 loss to the 49ers. He leads Saints pass catchers with a 13-125-1 line through two weeks. He’s been targeted on 20 of QB Spencer Rattler’s 80 pass attempts through two games, a robust 25% target share.

  • Medium-priority add. Hand up, I had Juwan as a lower priority last week than some other TEs that he has now confirmed he has a better/more reliable pass-catching role than. If you need a TE and he’s available on waivers, he’s my top add at the position this week based on his high-volume role in a fast-paced Saints offense.

  • 10 - 20% of FAAB.

Harold Fannin Jr., CLE, Week 3 vs GB

  • Fannin continued the fast start to his rookie campaign with five catches for 48 yards last week. He leads the Browns in catches and has been lining up all over the field as the Browns use him creatively to complement starting TE David Njoku.

  • Medium-priority add. I think Fannin is usable this week as a big underdog against a Packers team that has allowed a 6-79 line to Sam LaPorta and a 6-64-1 tally to Zach Ertz already this year as their teams played catch-up.

  • 5 - 15% of FAAB.

Isaiah Likely, BAL, Week 3 vs DET

  • Likely has missed the first two games of the year with a foot injury but returned to practice in a limited capacity last week. His veteran TE teammate, Mark Andrews, has two catches for seven yards through two weeks. Likely has a chance to take control of the pass-catching TE role in a great offense upon his return, but that’s no guarantee.

  • Medium-priority add. I think Likely is a good player to add and stash for future weeks, but he can’t be relied on for fantasy lineups yet this week coming off of injury and playing on Monday Night Football.

  • 5 - 15% of FAAB.

Some additional lower-priority TE adds to consider:

  • Brenton Strange (JAX) - Playing a full-time TE role and has the second-most receiving yards for the Jaguars this season.

  • Ja’Tavion Sanders (CAR) - Had a solid 7-54 line in a game QB Bryce Young threw 55 passes. Sanders trails only rookie WR Tetairoa McMillan in catches and receiving yards for the Panthers this season.

  • Chig Okonkwo (TEN) - Operating as a near full-time player for the Titans and is tied for the team lead with seven catches through two weeks.

DEFENSE (Top pickups for Week 3)

  1. Seahawks (home vs Saints)

  2. Colts (at Titans)

  3. Cowboys (at Bears)

  4. Cardinals (at 49ers)
