Week 10 Waiver Targets
Fantasy Football Waiver Adds To Consider
By: Tony Kneepkens (@tonytk44)
These are the top players to consider adding from waivers this week. Unless otherwise noted, all players below are available in greater than 50% of Yahoo leagues (as of Sunday evening).
Week 10 teams on bye: Browns, Packers, Raiders, Seahawks
QB Streamer of the Week
Daniel Jones, NYG, Week 10 “at” Carolina (in Germany)
Another great call as an “Early Waiver Add” in Sunday’s Daily Dose. Jones threw for two TDs and ran in another last week. Now the Giants face a generous Panthers defense that made Broncos rookie QB Bo Nix look like prime Josh Allen two weeks ago.
Low-priority add. Jones is my favorite streaming QB this week in an awesome matchup. He should have no problem distributing the ball to his talented playmakers or scoring points of his own on the ground against a struggling Panthers defense.
5% or less of FAAB.
RB Pickups
Ray Davis, BUF, Week 10 at IND
Davis racked up 90 scrimmage yards, including a 63-yard TD reception last week. The rookie RB is now somehow fourth on the Bills in scrimmage yards this season and boasts a healthy 10/149/1 receiving line.
Medium-priority add. While Davis isn't unseating a healthy James Cook any time soon, he played well when Cook missed a game earlier this season and seems to be carving out a standalone role for himself on a good offense. Davis can help you cover for byes in deeper leagues while doubling as a high-upside handcuff RB.
10 - 20% of FAAB.
Trey Benson, AZ, Week 10 vs NYJ
Benson, a rookie Day 2 draft pick, had eight carries and his first career TD in last week’s comfortable win over the Bears. He and teammate Emari Demercado both thrived in last week’s game while spelling starting RB James Conner.
Low-priority add. Benson is a talented handcuff RB worth stashing on benches. If Conner were to miss a game or games at some point, I believe Benson would be the Cards’ lead rusher with Demercado spelling him for some passing-down reps.
10% or less of FAAB.
Some additional RB adds to consider:
Zach Charbonnet (SEA) - One of the top handcuff RBs in the league, has dipped just below 50% owned.
Jaylen Warren (PIT) - Seems to finally be getting healthy, has handled 21 carries over the past two weeks.
Isaac Guerendo (SF) - The explosive rookie had 100 scrimmage yards and a TD when we last saw SF in action Week 8. There are admittedly a lot of moving parts in this backfield at the moment, keeping him from being a higher-priority recommendation.
WR Pickups
Ricky Pearsall, SF, Week 10 at TB
Before the 49ers’ bye week, Pearsall had a breakout game with 77 scrimmage yards in the win over the Cowboys while stepping into a larger role with several of his WR teammates injured. While Brandon Aiyuk is out for the season, Jauan Jennings is anticipated to be returning to the SF lineup soon, as is dual-threat RB Christian McCaffrey.
Medium-priority add. Despite a few unknowns, there’s a lot to like here. We have a first-round pedigree rookie WR with a good QB and a smart play caller who seems likely to have an ascending role coming out of his team’s bye week. While the return of both Jennings and CMC to the SF lineup could potentially cut into his opportunities, I still want to add Pearsall to my rosters to see how this all shakes out.
10 - 20% of FAAB.
Quentin Johnston, LAC, Week 10 vs TEN
QJ had a breakout 4/118/1 performance against the Browns last week, including an easy 66-yard TD after Cleveland seemed to lose track of him in coverage.
Low-to-medium priority add. The Chargers have really spread the ball around on offense this year, but they would seem to have every incentive to feature QJ, last year’s first-round draft pick, more and more as long as he continues to perform well with the opportunities.
10% or less of FAAB.
Some additional lower-priority WR adds to consider:
Jalen McMillan (TB) - Had 52 scrimmage yards Week 8 and then missed Week 9 with a hamstring injury. Assuming he gets healthy, I like him to step into a larger role among the banged-up Bucs WRs.
Noah Brown (WAS) - Led the team in catches and receiving yards last week, now has consecutive six-target games from rookie phenom Jayden Daniels.
Parker Washington (JAX) - Second on the team with six targets last week filling in for injured teammate Christian Kirk, who’s out for the season.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (TEN) - 5/60/1 last week; has scored a TD in four straight games.
Ray-Ray McCloud and KhaDarel Hodge (ATL) - One or both would likely be afforded more targets if Drake London misses time with his hip injury.
TE Pickups
Mike Gesicki, CIN, Week 10 at BAL (TNF)
Gesicki had a monster 5/100/2 game last week and continues to thrive in a secondary pass-catching role this season whenever WR Tee Higgins is out of the Bengals’ lineup.
Low-to-medium priority add. Higgins is no lock to return this week on a short week. If he sits again, Gesicki is nearly a must-start TE this week in what projects as a high-scoring game against the Ravens on Thursday night.
10% or less of FAAB.
Ja’Tavion Sanders, CAR, Week 10 vs NYG
The rookie Sanders had a career high 87 receiving yards last week, including a 46-yard catch. He is second on the Panthers in receiving yards this season after WR Diontae Johnson’s departure.
Low-priority add. Sanders is an interesting flier at a weak TE position to see if his role continues to expand for a struggling Carolina offense down the stretch.
5% or less of FAAB.
Some additional lower-priority TE adds to consider:
Jonnu Smith (MIA) - Four straight games with 4+ catches for Miami.
Theo Johnson (NYG) - The athletic rookie TE scored his first career TD last week.
DEFENSE (Top pickups for Week 10)
Giants “at” Panthers (Germany)
Falcons at Saints
Patriots at Bears
