This article is specifically designed to give you some ideas on ways that we can use strategy to jump ahead of the field on FanDuel. Touchdowns play an even bigger role on FanDuel than on DraftKings because receptions are only worth half a point. Touchdowns used to be an even bigger deal before they added bonuses for yardage totals, but it’s still something we need to focus on because of the reception difference and how they price their players. Touchdowns have a high degree of variance and since they carry so much weight on FanDuel, this article will focus on ways each week that we can Leverage that variance to jump ahead of the field when things don’t go exactly as expected as far as who crosses the imaginary line while holding the football.

Michael Penix + Darnell Mooney + Olamide Zaccheaus

  • A week after Penix flopped at high ownership and min-price, he is likely to go overlooked in an above average matchup. Penix looked the part last week, he just didn’t need to do that much. Jayden Daniels will be highly owned as people look to ride the momentum from his electric performance last week, but if this game becomes high scoring then betting on Penix and Mooney to connect a week after it was cool to do so could be massively valuable and save salary off of Daniels. Zaccheaus had a huge 4th quarter last week and Dyami Brown is out this week, leaving him to a full-time role at modest ownership and a low salary.

Jordan Love + Jayden Reed + Tucker Kraft

  • This game will be very popular due to the Vikings projecting so well and Dontayvion Wicks and Tucker Kraft having low salaries. However, Jordan Love is unlikely to get very popular and the way most people will build around this game is a Vikings stack with a Packers WR/TE as a bring back. Flipping the script here and using Reed, who is likely to be the one overlooked from this game, is an elite GPP option that can put you in position to win tournaments if the Packers increase their pass rate and/or this game goes nuts.

Jerome Ford + Tyjae Spears + Brock Bowers + Browns Defense

  • This is a bet on the Browns taking advantage of the Dolphins offense in potentially bad weather without Tua Tagovailoa under center and dominating the game through defense and the running game. Playing Spears with Ford will also be somewhat unique as there are some really appealing expensive RBs on the slate and people will generally look to use one or the other of Ford or Spears. The Raiders defense will be the chalky cheap defense, so if they are disappointing and Cleveland’s defense is optimal on this slate then that likely means the Raiders are in a competitive game where paying up for Bowers could be worth it. Bowers has the ability to dominate his position and fits perfectly with the rest of this group where we went cheap at both RB spots and Defense. The best part is we still have enough salary leftover to add some more really talented pieces to this roster from here.
