Buy Low, Sell High: Week 9
Players To Consider Making Fantasy Moves on This Week
By: Mike Johnson (@Mjohnson86)
These are the guys who public perception may be low on but have brighter days ahead…..as well as the guys who may be coming off a big game but have a tough schedule or potential role change in their future.
BUY LOW
Tank Dell, WR, HOU
Dell has struggled a bit this season, and despite scoring a touchdown in Week 8, his overall performance has been far behind 2023. However, Stefon Diggs suffered a torn ACL and Nico Collins is about a week or two out from returning. Dell’s value may get a little bump with the Diggs news, but not as much as it should. He was a top-12 WR last year with Stroud and is getting healthier by the week after his 2023 broken leg. He has been very close to a couple of big days, and he will connect for a big one soon.
Drake London, WR, ATL
The Falcons had a big game against the Bucs and everyone seemed to get in on the action except London, who finished with four receptions for 34 yards. London is still the alpha here, however, and he ranks fifth in the NFL in targets. If anyone is questioning his ability or letting him go for less than elite value, now is the time to pounce. Now is also the time to start thinking about the playoffs for teams in good position, and London has great matchups against the Raiders, Giants, and Commanders in Weeks 15 through 17.
Kenneth Walker III, RB, SEA
The entire Seattle offense flopped against the Bills, but upon closer inspection, Walker was very close to a very good game. He ceded work to Zach Charbonnet once the outcome was decided, which may have his owners a little scared if they don’t consider the context. The Seattle offensive line is not great and struggled against a good Bills defense, but this week Walker should have room to run against the Rams. The Seahawks then have a Week 10 bye, after which they should get DK Metcalf back from injury and return to a high-powered offense which Walker will be the focal point of and can lead you to the playoffs.
Brock Bowers, TE, LVR
Week 8 was “National Tight Ends Day” and it seemed like half the tight ends in the league had a big day. Bowers didn’t have a bad day, but his five receptions for 58 yards stat line didn’t look great relative to his peers. He still led the team in targets, however, and is arguably the TE1 for the rest of the season. If you have a tight end that is coming off a big week who you can move straight up for Bowers or can add a small depth piece at WR or RB in a package for him, now is the time to do it.
SELL HIGH
Mark Andrews, TE, BAL
Leaving Andrews here again this week after he scored another touchdown against the Browns in Week 8. He should have enough on his resume to convince any doubters of his value, but the Ravens just added Diontae Johnson via trade and the Ravens’ defense is likely to improve down the stretch and/or the team is likely to lean into a more run-heavy game plan to protect their defense. Andrews is third in the NFL in TDs among TEs, but his usage and volume stats are unlikely to ever bring him back near the top of the position.
